Kubiak was sacked at season's end, having put together a 61-64 mark over seven seasons with the Texans. Doctors ordered him to take a week off and he hasn't appeared to have any health issues since. Following the victory, Manning retired and Osweiler left to play for Houston, leaving Kubiak, hands tied, to find a replacement starting quarterback.
Earlier this season, Kubiak was hospitalized following the Broncos' Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons with what was eventually diagnosed as a "complex migraine " that resulted in weakness and extreme fatigue. In 2013, during his time as the Houston Texans' head coach, Kubiak collapsed on his way off the field at halftime of a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
