Google Pixel 2 Smartphone Confirmed By SVP Of Hardware

In fact, the launch of the Pixel-branded phones was in itself a let-down from Google for some fans, but it seems the search engine giant has a plan to replace the budget-friendly Nexus lineup with a new non-Pixel phone that should run stock Android OS. And it won't necessarily carry the Pixel branding as Google SVP of Hardware, Rick Osterloh has emphasised that "Pixel stays premium". Out of these 8, five affect Google's devices, the other three do not.

As far as the launch date is confirmed, the Google hardware head told AndroidPit, "There is an annual rhythm in the industry". If you say, "Show me my last message", you'll be able to access your most recent conversation.

Google is reportedly developing a camera lens for the Pixel 2 smartphone that will take brilliant images even in low-light conditions.

Osterloh, who was the former president of Motorola was hired nearly a year back in April 2016 to head Google's hardware department and unite the company's different hardware projects.

Apple, for one, has been prone to releasing its iPhones during September, while Samsung has followed an August release date for its flagship phablet line, the Note series. It is also not surprising that Google is releasing this monthly security patches as it is always been doing for nearly a year now.

Although Google is keeping information to a premium, its typical development cycle suggests a Pixel 2 will go on sale in the fourth quarter.

This means that the device will also have a steep price tag.

The Google Pixel smartphones also come with the Pixel launcher, which is exclusive to Pixel smartphones and brings with it an all new app launcher and rounded app icons. The budget Pixel 2B however, is said to be "significantly cheaper".

South Korea prosecutor: President colluded to take Samsung bribes
Lee and four other senior Samsung executives were indicted last week on charges including embezzlement and bribery. State prosecutors will start a new investigation once President Park Geun-hye is out of the presidential office.

If you are on a Nexus or Pixel device, you will want to keep your eyes open for this update because it is rolling out right now to those devices.

As for the hardware inside, the website reports that Google is working in tandem with chipmakers like Qualcomm and Intel and even MediaTek although not anymore. But again it's likely that the Pixel 2 will come powered by a Snapdragon 83X.

We expect to find out more about the Pixel 2 as well as the rumored budget smartphone from Google in the coming months. Both companies will have a lot to prove with their devices.

The Pixel and the Pixel XL are attractive devices, but the handsets do feature pretty rather unsightly, thick bezels at the top and bottom.
