Samsung is considering selling recalled Note 7 devices as refurbished phones

Leaked details about the upcoming device have all been promising so far, but will it be enough to bring the Galaxy S8 to the forefront of a highly competitive mobile phone market?

Samsung said it would have to liaise with "regulatory authorities and carriers" and measure local demand before determining where and when refurbished handsets would be released. These two hot new devices will continue to leak right up until Samsung officially announces them during its big Unpacked press conference on Wednesday, and we've got a handful of hot leaks for you to enjoy on Monday.

After significant pressure from Greenpeace and other ecological organizations, Samsung has outlined exactly what it's planning on doing with all the leftover Galaxy Note 7 handsets.

Uber president Jeff Jones quits over management issues
Former employee of Uber; Susan Fowler has accused Uber for sexual harassment and negligence from the human resource department. In January, critics of the company began a #DeleteUber campaign after Uber turned off surge pricing at New York City airports.

Driving a new wave of users to buy the next flagship devices will also be crucial if Apple and Samsung want their customers to adopt technologies and services that they are staking their future on such as AI and virtual reality.

It has been previously reported that the Galaxy Note 7 debacle will not have as bad of an impact as previously thought on the sales of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, with the finding coming from a survey launched by marketing group Fluent. One picture in particular depicts a woman unlocking the device with her eyes, bearing out talk that the phone would feature an iris scanner on its front surface. But the explosive shitstorm that resulted from the Note 7 debacle was so bad it's nearly unthinkable that Samsung would even consider marketing the phones again, even if they are "refurbished".

Samsung may offer a protection plan just for the Galaxy S8. Customers will also not be able to use the Galaxy Note 7 unless they install the mandatory update. Both smartphones will likely to be water resistant (IP68) in nature.

Uber will release its first diversity and inclusion report by the end of March, in accordance with that goal. Jones said leadership issues caused his abrupt departure after only six months on the job.

So why do anything with the phones at all?

Samsung recalled a total of around 4.3 million Note 7 units, prompting environmentalists to question how the tech-giant would go about disposing of the units.

In a blog post, the company announced it has "established three principles" to make sure the Note 7 is "recycled and processed in an environmentally-friendly manner".
