Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding to present The Great British Bake Off

It's basically the double'.

The new crew will go head-to-head with a BBC show hosted by incredibly charming Bake Off victor Nadiya Hussain, The Big Family Cooking Showdown.

'It is such an honour to be part of The Great British Bake Off team'.

"GBBO is one of my favourite shows", said Fielding of the news.

The show will return later this year for the first time since it left the BBC. The news sent shockwaves throughout the British public as the much-loved show, which searches for the country's best amateur bakers, began to dismantle in the public eye. I spend my daytimes on Channel 4 already so it will be a treat to be there in the evenings.

Hunt added: "Paul and Prue have huge amounts of expertise and warmth".

'You work for a fascist': Sean Spicer confronted in Apple store
The press secretary added that "the president used the word "wiretaps" in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities".

Yes some people are confused as to what on earth Noel could be bringing to the GBBO table, and debating whether or not the show's producers have lost their damn minds. It's the sort of innovative line-up audiences expect'.

"Noel Fielding is very amusing which is what we need in the tent - or the new bakers need", he said.

The revamped show will be up against a rival BBC cookery show called The Big Family Cooking, which will see former Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain present a family cooking competition with Zoe Ball and chefs Rosemary Shrager and Giogio Locatelli as judges.

Paul Hollywood said 'I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show.

He said: "Prue is a hugely respected culinary legend and Sandi and Noel are warm and utterly hilarious. She has got that behind her and Noel of course we just have to wait and see but I think they will ace it".

The Great British Bake Off is produced by Love Productions.

New US women's basketball coach not tinkering with winning formula

Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw told his morning show listeners: "It's a really random choice".

On his BBC Radio 2 show, Evans revealed she had emailed him to apologise.

Meanwhile, Prue will be judging hopefuls' bakes alongside Paul Hollywood, who ditched former co-judge Mary Berry to make the move to Channel 4 alone. And you've got Sandi who is of course Danish, so she will be good with her pastries. It's complete nonsense, ' she said.

Whereas Toksvig's casting is in keeping Bake Off's preexisting vibe, Fielding is a genuine surprise, not least because he'll be appearing without his comedy partner Julian Barratt; the pair founded the troupe The Mighty Boosh and starred in the surreal cult comedy series of the same name.

Speaking ahead of hosting the Romantic Novel of the Year Awards 2017, she added: 'They've said they'll let everyone know soon.
