Uber CEO apologises for being rude with his own driver

As they open their app based dashboards and bank account statements each week, they wonder about falling incomes, decreasing fare rates, rising commissions and lesser demand across Indian cities.

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick posted an apology online Tuesday night after a video posted online showed him arguing with a driver over the company's fares. You dropped the prices. Now you have Travis Kalanick taking this step of apologizing for his behavior in that auto but also saying, "I am, I'm going to try to get help with my leadership".

Driver Fawzi Kamel and Mr Kalanick raged at each other in San Francisco, after Mr Kamel complained that his finances were suffering after the company kept changing its business model and charging less and less for rides.

A study released in November found that 11 percent of Uber drivers, many of whom use the app on a part-time basis, stop using the system within a month of signing up. "Otherwise, we'd go out of business", Kalanick replies.

To Twist, the driver was unprofessional but Kalanick should also have responded differently. The driver Fawzi Kamel shared his concern with Kalanick and said that the Uber is trying to raise the standard of their cab experience while reducing the prices.

Kalanick, however, retorted back.

The driver in the video, Fawzi Kamel, told NBC News that he was frustrated that Uber had introduced low-priced services, such as UberX and Uber Pool, that are less lucrative for drivers, especially those who purchased more expensive vehicles back when Uber was exclusively a luxury service. "They blame everything in their life on somebody else", Kalanick said as he climbed out of the vehicle and slammed the door.

And the company has even faced some criticism from a key ally: the mayor of Pittsburgh, who has said the city is getting little in return for opening its streets to Uber's self-driving auto tests.

"Another wrote: "(this is) the exact reason I stopped driving for Uber". In the video from this week, Kalanick says the company "went low-end" (read: introduced UberX) because not doing so would have priced them out of the market.
