According to The Associated Press, almost 1.2 million cars and SUVs are being recalled due to a defect that can cause engines in the vehicles to stall and fail.
Included are the 2013-2014 Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe, 2011-2013 Kia Sportage, 2011-2014 Optima, and 2012-2014 Sorento.
The two auto companies said on Friday they would recall 171,348 vehicles in South Korea because of a manufacturing problem, which les to possible engine stalling.
Hyundai and Kia say, debris left from manufacturing can restrict oil flow to connecting rod bearings.

In addition to the NCAA, many other sporting bodies and musical performers had refused to perform in the state. If the situation changes, the organization said it "will not hesitate to take necessary action at any time".
Meanwhile, Hyundai and Kia may also have to conduct similar recalls for up to 1.3 million cars with the Theta II engines, Hyundai officials said.

Owners who may have serious engine problems, as indicated by a knocking sound, an oil-pressure warning light, a check-engine light, or all three, may be eligible for a new engine. But claims started growing and by May 2016 the company extended warranties on the engines.
