Chris Sutton believes Arsenal must replace Arsene Wenger

Arsenal suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night, with the Frenchman saying it would be "inconvenient" to talk about his future.

Andros Townsend opened the scoring in the first half before Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic's second half goals were sufficient for the Eagles to seal three crucial points.

"I want the fans to support the team". It's a big worry.

We didn't deserve anything more than what we got. "The only positive we can take is that not much has changed around us". Swansea substitute Luciano Narsingh came closest to an equaliser for the visitors but his powerful strike went just over.

"Honestly, I'm disappointed so much", he said.

Arsenal great Ian Wright claimed on Twitter that the nature of Arsenal's latest capitulation showed "that dressing room is lost". "It's damaging of course but top four is hard for us, it is a hard defeat and it has consequences on our chances to be in the top four".

Arsenal subsequently sit sixth in the Premier League, seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and 14 behind bitter rivals Tottenham in second.

Following last night's defeat he said: "I face it in every press conference at the moment but tonight I'm not in the mood to speak about it".

Wenger conceded Arsenal's chances of making the Champions League via a top-four finish look bleak, but he refused to be drawn on his future. "They expect to win everything so this is very hard for them".

The pressure continues to mount on Wenger however, with pundits and former players lining up to say it was time for him to go. "You could tell. You could sense that from kickoff".

But after his display against Arsenal on Monday, there could be hope yet for the 26-year-old. Hopefully we haven't been dragged straight back into it, but judging on that performance tonight, it looks like we have.
