Electric flying taxi by Lilium successfully completes its first voyage

Lilium's larger five-seater model is created to serve on-demand air taxi and ride-sharing services, the company explained in the statement. "Lilium passengers of tomorrow are the people using ride-hailing and auto sharing apps today, not private jets".

Lilium has just shown off its prototype of the Jet taking flight with a vertical take-off and landing - making it ideal for flying in and out of tight spots and flawless as the flying taxi of the future.

According to the company, the jet - which is powered by 36 separate jet engines - is the only electric aircraft capable of both vertical take-off and jet-powered flight.

"The successful test flight program shows that our ground-breaking technical design works exactly as we envisioned", says Lilium co-founder and CEO Daniel Wiegand.
