Intel May Release New PC Chips Early To Battle AMD's Ryzen

Coffee Lake chips are manufactured on Intel's 14-nanometer process and will be the fourth processor family to use the architecture after Broadwell, Skylake, and Kaby Lake. Today we learn about Intel's plans for processors that may shed some light on what Apple may use for their new iMacs.

The 1800X is an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a 3.60GHz base clock and an awesome 95W TDP. Question is, can they beat AMD's price?

In addition to Basin Falls, there's also news that Coffee Lake processors have been pushed forward from an early 2018 launch to the August 2017 timeframe.

Warplanes strike Syrian town hit by chemical attack
Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the USA strike as "act of aggression" and said it violated worldwide law. The US blames Syria for Tuesday's chemical attack , which left more than 85 people dead and hundreds more injured.

However, it's important to note that AMD's Ryzen 7 1800X processor isn't the only new chip in the new lineup. Both the 1700X and 1800X have a TDP of 95W, while the regular 1700 is rated at 65W.

PerformanceAs for performance, most people generally consider Intel to be better than AMD, and according to performance expectations, the same could ring true with the companies' latest releases. We reported earlier this month that Intel is pushing up the announcement of its Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processor to coincide with Computex 2017 (which is being held, as usual, in Taipei, Taiwan).

Also, Intel CPU, which is one of the AMD Ryzen's big competitors reportedly threaten on the launching of this AMD Ryzen 5. Skylake-X will purportedly have up to 44 PCIe 3.0 lanes, while Kaby Lake-X will have 16.

Coffee Lake, while highly anticipated, is expected to deliver only slight performance gains, similar to the improvements Kaby Lake chips received after Skylake. The developer recently assembled its Ryzen 7 line-up with a special emphasis on performance.
