The former Rochester and Strood MP Mark Reckless is reported to be considering leaving Ukip.
In a letter to Mr Davies, the assembly presiding officer Elin Jones said, as Mr Reckless was no longer a member of Ukip, that he "can be treated as a member of your group for the purposes of our procedures within the Assembly". I campaigned all my adult life for us to leave the EU.

The then-MP fought and won a by-election in his Rochester and Strood seat in November that year, but lost his seat at the May 2015 general election.
So as new of Reckless' defection emerged, Farage and his allies suggested that Carswell was to blame.
Reckless and Carswell were both seen as being on the liberal wing of Ukip, as opposed to the Nigel Farage wing.
There is no rule that would require Mr Reckless to give up his seat and give way to the next UKIP candidate on the regional list.
