Actress Rebel Wilson tells court Australian articles hurt her career

The articles said Rebel had lied about her name, age and upbringing in Australia.

She denied claims from Bauer's defence counsel that the articles, which she says portrayed her as a serial liar and a fake, were light-hearted in tone and had no serious effect on her.

The 37-year-old actress and comedian claims the articles caused her to be fired from the movies Trolls and Kung Fu Panda 3, and left her unable to secure future roles.

Rebel is seeking unspecified damages from the publisher.

"Rebel's world collapsed", Dr Collins said.

Page Six notes that the trial will take place over a period of three weeks and that Wilson, who flew to Australia for the case, is expected to testify.

Wilson told the court that in her hallucination she rapped her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards, and upon waking realised she had to pursue the vision.

However, Georgina Schoff QC, representing Bauer Media, claimed Wilson told "tall tales" about her working class childhood and said it wasn't true that she had "grown up in a ghetto", claiming she actually went to an "elite private boarding school". Here was young Rebel Wilson in a white dress.

In a court nearby, staff could have swung a cat as a man faced charges for a grisly murder.

Schultz registered a career-high 51 points during the regular season and had been leading the team in ice time this spring. Pittsburgh will also still be without Patric Hornqvist , who was injured in the series opener against Ottawa.

He said Wilson thought "she'd never been hit with such nastiness" when Bauer Media published "grubby articles" that defamed her. Wilson said "she can't wait to start giving evidence".

In the two years since the articles were published, she has had only two roles - one a cameo in the Absolutely Fabulous movie, which she did as a favour, and a stage role in London.

It was more important to ensure the process of justice was not undermined.

There was a retired illustrator, a teacher, a pricing analyst, graphic designer and church minister among the roll call of jury nominees.

On Tuesday, she took the stand, the first witness to give evidence.
