Christy Clark remains BC premier until all votes counted

With absentee ballots still to be counted in the days ahead, Clark's 43 seats represent a loss of only four from the last majority, and the NDP's 41 seats is up six.

The NDP won one riding by only nine votes, making a recount a certainty that will determine the difference between a minority and majority if it were to flip to the Liberals.

Regardless, absentee ballots will be counted sometime between May 22nd and May 24th and that's when a final tally will be officially released.

"British Columbians did tell us they want us to do things differently". That's a question we still don't know the answer to, despite polls having closed across Canada's western-most province over three hours ago, because the results have been incredibly close.

She said her party won the popular vote, finishing with 40.9 per cent compared with the NDP's 39.9 per cent based on preliminary election results.

Its leader, Andrew Weaver, a Cambridge-trained climate scientist who left an accomplished academic career to become a politician, had refused before the election to say which party he would support in a potential minority government.

Massimiliano Allegri says Monaco will have nothing to lose at Juventus
It is hard now, but I told them that we have to believe, even if we have only a five per cent chance to qualify for the final. Juventus could win the Scudetto this weekend should they take the points against Torino and Roma slip up against Milan.

Both Clark and Green Party leader Andrew Weaver have said they are open to working with other parties, but the precarious nature of minority governments and an alliance between the energy-friendly Liberals and the environmentalist Greens cast some doubt on the ability to get projects done.

The NDP focused its campaign on the seat-rich Lower Mainland.

Horgan won his seat in Langford-Juan de Fuca, while Christy Clark won in Kelowna West.

"I believe that puts me in a good position to make the argument... that I'm in a better position than Ms. Clark to lead a government that will address the issues that matter to people", Horgan said.

"They want us to work together collaboratively and across partisan lines", said Clark, who was trying to win the party's fifth straight majority government. Judith Guichon has asked her to continue governing, though how long she'll be leading the province remains very much up in the air.

Many Green supporters and voters who found they had simply returned the BC Liberals to power would feel betrayed.

Despite the more-than a decade that has passed since the first film, the stars all seem to have aged quite well. Red Nose Day Actually will premiere on May 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC .

The Liberals are down four seats from the 47 they held at dissolution, while the NDP are up six seats and the Greens are up two seats.

"I think people are exhausted (and) I think we can show B.C. what we're about".

The ever-upbeat Clark tried to spin the May 9 election results in a positive light, despite the fact her party ended up the biggest loser, with a number of Liberal cabinet ministers losing their seats to the NDP.

On other issues, he added, "We are willing to negotiate". "And so it is by no means finished and the dynamics of the house, once it's finally constituted in the form that it's going to take, I think, will have a lot to do with what the story is from here on".

Negative ads and attacks between the NDP and the Liberals over political fundraising laws that place no limits on corporate and union donations have also been a prime part of the political debate. It is also facing the possibility of not having its first minority government in more than 60 years - and instead seeing the Liberals returned to office with a slim majority.
