Hillary Clinton blames Russian hackers, Comey for 2016 election loss

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton today opened up about her election loss in an interview at a Women for Women event in NY, admitting that her campaign made some mistakes while also taking jabs at President Donald Trump.

"Of course, I take absolute personal responsibility", she said. "I was the candidate".

Clinton, who was speaking at a Women For Women International charity luncheon in NY on Tuesday, note that her campaign had its shortcomings, but still felt she was on a winning course just a week before the election.

Clinton also said she was "on the way to winning", but lost after FBI Director Jim Comey's letter to Congress and WikiLeaks "raised doubts" and "scared off" voters. Clinton sees the timing as highly suspicious.

UK terror plot: Woman shot, knife-carrying man nabbed in Westminster
Asked if police had foiled an active plot, Neil Basu, Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, replied: "Yes". The woman, who is in her 20s, was in serious but stable condition in a hospital, police said.

In Clinton's talk, she seemed to relish the role of being a thorn in Trump's side. The evidence for that intervening event is compelling and persuasive. "I spent decades learning about what it would take to move our country forward", she said, touting her experience and deep grasp of complicated policy issues at multiple points in the interview.

"I am now back to being an activist citizen and part of the resistance", Clinton explained, looking rejuvenated and fired up during the luncheon.

But the truth is, dodgy email security aside, Clinton didn't win because not quite enough of America liked her or wanted her to be their commander in chief.

"It is real, it is very much a part of the landscape, politically, socially, and economically", Clinton said of misogyny.

Upcoming "Star Wars" film gets release date

"We have to make sure we learn the right lesson from 2016, that we don't just draw the lesson that makes us feel good at night, makes us sleep well at night", Canter said.

Asked whether misogyny played a role, Clinton said with a wry smile: "The book's coming out in the fall". It doesn't appear Clinton is now planning another run for office.

In response to that warning, Clinton served up some more tea with another not-so-subtle jab at Trump, "Better that than interfering with foreign affairs".

"She is not running for anything - but she's just not hiding", a Clinton confidante told CNN's Jeff Zeleny shortly after the speech. Mook placed the program's insights above those of his local organizers and even her husband, former president Bill Clinton, and directed resources accordingly - and wrongly.
