New Zealand wins 5th straight vs Oracle in America's Cup

Cyclors for Emirates Team New Zealand pedal during the third race of America's Cup sailing competition in Hamilton, Bermuda.

And Emirates Team New Zealand performance coach Murray Jones - who helped mastermind Oracle's wonderful come-from-behind win against TNZ in San Francisco in 2013 - has confirmed the tweaks should make the boat go faster. It's not the first time Spithill and Oracle have had their backs to the wall.

"You've got a young vigorous team in New Zealand, a bunch of young guys who I think have choreographed the handling of that boat beautifully and they work really efficiently together", he said. They've got different designers, different sailors, different management, whatever, but you look at the number of innovative things that that team has created over the years, it's impressive.

Before the regatta in Bermuda, all of the competing syndicates, except Team New Zealand, agreed to a blueprint for the next two editions of the Cup.

After high-profile losses, some Democrats seek change at the top
Though Ossoff and Handel both said the race was about them, pols and pundits elsewhere made them proxies in a national battle. Filemon Vela, D-Texas told Politico that Pelosi will continue to be an albatross for Democrats if she remains.

Burling, the Tauranga raised helmsman of Emirates Team New Zealand, took the challengers into the America's Cup contest, by defeating Artemis in the challenger finals. "Certainly there is a little bit of talk around hey have we paid a little bit too much to have the cup in Bermuda".

He said the crew have made huge gains on the water over the week, with the team all committing to putting in the extra hours to learn to sail the boat better.

But if the Kiwis win, the expectation is that it will move to Auckland, although there are also some suggestions that it could also be held in Dubai, where the main New Zealand sponsor Emirates Airline is based.

Team New Zealand gained during a wind shift on leg four of the sixth race and passed Oracle. They revealed this week that TNZ's boat was considerably lighter than Oracle, due to carbon-fibre technology developed in-house, as were the crew overall.

Strong to severe storms possible for Father's Day
It is projected that light to heavy showers will continue to affect sections of all parishes this evening and tonight . A tornado or two and some hail may also be possible, according to the weather service's Storm Prediction Center.

"We were certainly excited the way it was panning out", NZL Sailing Team skipper Logan Dunning Beck said. The Kiwis led by 57 seconds at the downwind mark.

Coutts is impressed with Team New Zealand's boat design. Spithill dipped underneath. Both boats pushed the protest button, and the umpires decided Spithill didn't give Burling enough room.

Races 7 and 8 are scheduled for Sunday.

At one stage comeback specialist Spithill managed to get a lead over Burling, but he was out-duelled and infringed the Kiwi "cat", incurring another penalty and allowing them to fly into the line on their space-age catamaran in front of a packed grandstand in Bermuda's purpose-built America's Cup Village.

Georgia race finally heads to voters; DC watching closely
Underscoring the national attention on the race, Trump repeatedly chimed in on it multiple times leading up to the results. Yet Ossoff barely mentions Trump, talking instead in generalities about "restoring civility" and Congress' oversight role.
