Trump confirms he's under investigation

The New York Times sued the FBI on Friday, seeking a court's help in getting the agency to turn over documents created by fired FBI Director James Comey after his conversations with President Donald Trump.

"The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", Feinstein said in her statement.

The probe by special counsel Robert Mueller, a former FBI chief, "marks a major turning point in the almost year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin", The Washington Post had reported.

His investigation then grew to include looking at whether President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey because he was unwilling to back off the Russian Federation investigation.

The president tweeted Friday, "Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic & jobs numbers are great".

Chicago police cite reforms after 3 indicted
It also recommends abolishing the Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates officer misconduct. In the 11-page indictment Van Dyke is referred to as Individual A and as a part of the conspiracy.

Trump wrote that the investigation has not "been able to show any proof", an allegation that he assessed with one of his signature Twitter catchphrases: "Sad!"

Trump's digital volley appeared to be trained at Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who recommended the firing last month of James Comey - an nearly unprecedented move that could yet imperil Trump's presidency.

A source on Trump's legal team attempted to clarify the missive, claiming he was reacting to media reports about the investigation rather than offering public confirmation.

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee is calling on Congress to "unite to stop" President Donald Trump if he tries to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein or Special Counsel Robert Mueller. But regardless of [the] recommendation, I was going to fire Comey.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the deputy White House press secretary, referred questions about Trump's tweet to the President's private attorney, Marc Kasowitz. And Rosenstein did indeed write a letter to the president harshly criticizing Comey's conduct and recommending new leadership for the Federal Bureau of Investigation back in May.

The move was confirmed by a transition official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss post-election decisions.

Trump is under increasing pressure on the Russian Federation probe. "Regulations way down, jobs and enthusiasm way up!" said the US President in another tweet.

He's been advised of the legal ramifications from making these presidential statements on Twitter, but he and at least a few advisers have come to believe the political fight is more urgent.

Mueller is overseeing a host of investigations involving people who are or were in Trumps orbit, people familiar with the probe were quoted as saying.

President Donald Trump says it's "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.

The Washington-based lender also trimmed its projection for the rate of expansion in the United States for the following year from the 2.5% seen in Spring to 2.1%.
