Trump eyes White House overhaul, outside lawyers and PR team

The latest reports hit close to the Oval Office, alleging that Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner proposed secret back-channel communications with Russian Federation during the presidential transition.

Trump and his aides often rail on the media and the use of anonymous sources, calling news outlets and negative stories "fake news".

Also on Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said on television new shows that back channels with Russian Federation are a "good thing".

US intelligence officials have said that Moscow tried to interfere with the 2016 presidential election by hacking Democratic emails - Trump has expressed that it's simply an excuse for Hillary Clinton supporters.

Showers & storms continue through the weekend
The late afternoon wave will bring the best chance as the threat will remain through the evening into early Sunday night . The chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms will building in the afternoon hours staying mainly south of US 50.

"Jared is doing a great job for the country", Trump told The New York Times late Sunday.

The President has publicly come out in support of Mr Kushner, saying: "I have total confidence in him". "We know that there are been many news reports very recently that had the facts wrong".

Mudd was referring to last week's Washington Post report that Kushner met in December with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.to discuss establishing a secret communication channel to the Kremlin that could not be monitored by USA intelligence - using Russian facilities.

Trump also leaned on two administration officials with military experience to defend Kushner, who has become a significant person of interest in the FBI's investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Moscow in its efforts to sway the presidential election toward Trump. And they're used to attention on a smaller scale - they were public figures in the NY real estate scene long before President Donald Trump began his campaign.

Some U.S. news reports, citing Trump aides, say the president could soon establish a White House "war room" to deal with the burgeoning number of questions about his administration's links to Russian Federation. Trump, when he returned to Washington, quickly assailed news media reports of White House turmoil linked to investigations of his aides and their ties to Russian Federation. National security adviser H R McMaster told reporters on Saturday that so-called back-channeling was not unusual. "#FakeNews is the enemy!"

Earlier in March as well, it was reported that Trump was extremely frustrated with his senior staff and communications team for allowing the firestorm surrounding Attorney General Jeff Sessions over Russian Federation links. "So generally speaking, about back-channel communications, what that allows you to do is communicate in a discreet manner".
