Male suspect still at large: 5 injured in chainsaw attack

Police in Switzerland said they have issued an worldwide arrest warrant in the manhunt for Franz Wrousis, the chainsaw-wielding suspect accused of injuring five people.

The authorities said that they were still investigating the motivation for the attack, but that Mr. Wrousis appeared to have been targeting employees of CSS Insurance who were working in the company's office in Schaffhausen.

Suspect Franz Wrousis, 51, has two previous convictions for weapons offenses and no fixed residence, authorities said.

The suspect was convicted in 2014 and again in 2016 for weapons offences, police said. Police say that the attack "is not a terrorist act". None of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, the police said.

A shop owner told Swiss newspaper Blick a man with a chainsaw was walking the streets and police later confirmed the report. They did not elaborate on its condition or say if anything else was found in it.
