Teen arrested after five acid attacks in London in 90 minutes

The 90-minute incident took place in Islington, Stoke Newington and Hackney, police officials stated.

Earlier in July, a young Muslim woman and her cousin suffered "life-changing" injuries after an acid attack in east London when she was celebrating her 21st birthday. A 32-year-old man was left with facial injuries and had his moped stolen after the suspects attacked him.

The latest assaults come after several other high-profile attacks, including one in which a man is accused of throwing acid at an aspiring model and her cousin as they sat in their auto.

Around 40 minutes later, at around 11.05pm, another victim was attacked by two men on a moped on Shoreditch high street, having liquid thrown in his face.

According to Clark, all five victims were riding mopeds at the time of the attacks, but they come from a "variety of backgrounds".

Just hours before the assault took place, Labour party MP Stephen Timms called on the issue to be debated in parliament, saying: "Too many people are frightened of becoming a victim".
