Trump's State Deptartment finds new ways to make Russian Federation happy

Tillerson said he plans to meet Lavrov on the sidelines of a regional summit in Manila, Philippines.

The US administration will take measures to prevent the new round of sanctions against Russian Federation, drafted by the US congress, from ruining attempts to restore ties with Moscow, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Tuesday.

The secretary of state said the Trump administration has been clear in their intentions to work with Russian Federation but the Kremlin has to take steps to address some of the core issues. "We were clear that we didn't think that was going to be helpful to our efforts, but that's the decision they made".

Foxconn will build factory in Wisconsin, White House invitation says
Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania are other states thought to be in the running to land the investment. But Foxconn has had a mixed record following up on promises to create new jobs in the United States.

Tillerson added. In response to a question about simmering tensions with Russian Federation that just announced it is expelling 755 US diplomatsŲŒ Tillerson said terrorism is one area of mutual interest with Moscow and both countries are committed to the stability of Syria following the battle to defeat ISILŲŒ but the relationship with Russian Federation continues to be under "considerable stress". "And let me say that in signing the sanction, our President and our Congress are speaking with a unified voice". Tillerson suggested the action was expected, given the domestic pressure on the Russian leader to retaliate for steps Obama took to punish Russia after US intelligence agencies concluded Moscow meddled in the election. According to him, sanctions show that Americans are highly puzzled by Moscow's actions, though they want the United States to have "functional relations" with this nuclear power.

Speaking about the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the US Secretary of State called for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, saying that this issue was directly related to easing and eventually lifting the sanctions against Moscow.

Thornton said China had taken "significant steps, . frankly unprecedented steps" to increase pressure on its neighbor North Korea, but it could do "a lot more" to step up enforcement of existing sanctions and to impose more. "He's someone who I have a great deal of trust and confidence in".

"U.S. favored a unified Syria, not divided, as well as the drafting of a new constitution, free and fair elections and a new political leadership", he stressed.

"As with any very particularly complex piece of legislation like this is, there's a legal review" taking place beforehand, she said.

Tillerson spoke at the State Department briefing Tuesday, where he talked about his first six months as secretary of state and answered a few questions.
