Trump weighs in on 'fake' dossier on his alleged Russian Federation ties

"Fake Dossier" refers to the Steele dossier, which is a list of allegations, many unproven, involving the Trump campaign's ties with Russian Federation compiled retired British spy Christopher Steele.

Peter Fritsch and Thomas Catan invoked their Fifth Amendment rights, saying they would only cooperate with "serious" investigations that strike a balance between "Congress's right to information and our client's privileges and legal obligations".

The dossier, first released publicly by Buzzfeed, was filled with unfounded smears about Trump that lacked evidence or proof. The firm's founder, Glenn Simpson, had previously given a 10-hour interview to the Senate Judiciary Committee. "We've done that with other committees, and will continue to do so".

Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly Declares He's 'Not Quitting Today'
Congress has also been frustrating to the president, Kelly added. "This is, in my view, the most important job I ever had". I will tell you , this is the hardest job I've ever had. "Unless things change, I'm not quitting, I'm not getting fired".

Steele worked for the firm Fusion GPS, which was initially hired by one of Trump's Republican primary opponents. When it became clear Trump would win the nomination, the benefactors of the dossier became Democratic supporters of Hillary Clinton.

When Steele started compiling the dossier in 2016, he was doing so for a Washington firm called Fusion GPS. Officials have said the Federal Bureau of Investigation has confirmed some of the information and rejected other parts, and caution that it may be impossible to verify or disprove the rest.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the investigation into the dossier had been taken up by the man leading the FBI's Russian Federation probe, Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Malaysia in deal with USA firm to restart MH370 search
They had been pressing the government to accept Ocean Infinity's offer to find answers to one of aviation's biggest mysteries. MH370 disappeared without a trace en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014 with 239 people on board.

As for Russian Federation, there isn't any evidence that Moscow was involved in the dossier - and it paints Russian Federation in a nefarious light.

The Magnitsky Act, opposed by Katsyv and the Kremlin, barred 18 (later raised to 23) Russians from entering the USA and froze any assets they had in United States banks as a punitive measure in response to the death of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in 2009.

Mr Trump has denied all the allegations.
