Valkyria Chronicles 4 Coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2018

Valkyria Chronicles 4 has been announced by SEGA. As a last-ditch attempt at capturing the Imperial Capital, the Federation decides to initiate Operation Northern Cross.

Sega has announced a new title in the Valkyria Chronicles series, Valkyria Chronicles 4, which is confirmed for a worldwide release. It's unclear when Valkyria Chronicles 4 is going to hit Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 next year as Sega didn't provide a concrete release date.

Valkyria Chronicles was easily one of my favourite games from the PlayStation 3, and it was such a shame that its sequels were either stuck on handhelds, trapped in Japan or simply ended up being a bit tiresome and uninspiring. Three other characters have been shown: heavy weapons technician Riley Miller, Darcsen division officer Raz, and sniper prodigy Kai Schulen. Players will take control of a group of soldiers defending against the Imperial army in battles that blends turn-based strategy and third-person gunplay. The only thing is to see whether the friendship of the bonds of Squad E be able to survive the frozen battlefield.

CANVAS Aesthetics - The series' signature hand-drawn visual style is back and overhauled for the newest generation. The soundtrack will be composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.

The story of the latest entry in the "active-simulation RPG" series is set during the timeline of the earlier Valkyria Chronicles games. Valkyria Chronicles III also made its way to PSP in 2011, but it never saw the light of day outside of Japan.
