Woman with anti-Trump sticker on truck posts controversial change

"A distinction in political perspectives does not give Sheriff Nehls the privilege to target nationals".

State Rep. Ron Reynolds and Fonseca will be holding a press conference at 10 a.m. Monday to discuss the injustice against Fonseca at the Fort Bend County Justice Center.

Karen Fonseca, 46, has had the sticker directed at President Trump on her truck for almost a year and said she's never had any issues.

Many - including the Texas branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, which offered to help Fonseca - saw the sheriff's Facebook post as a cut-and-dry attack on one woman's right to free speech. "When you're in politics, people know how to work the system". Not only has she not taken the decal off her truck, she's added another name to it: Sheriff Nehls'.

Texas Motorist with Profane Anti-Trump Sticker on Truck Adds Local Sheriff to Display after Being Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

She added a profane message against Nehls, whom she previously worked with at the Fort Bend County jail, after her arrest related to a 2015 investigation into alleged fraudulent possession or use of identifying information.

The sheriff's office has not provided details of the warrant and Fonseca says she had been unaware there was a warrant for her arrest. Nehls in his post said that a county prosecutor told him the message could warrant a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

In his Facebook post, Nehls said he needed to talk with the proprietor of the truck after he got a few objections about the sticker. The decal on the pickup's back window read, "F*** Trump, and f*** you for voting in favor of him".

Fonseca and her husband Mike maintain that the real reason she was arrested at her home in front of her six-year-old daughter was the decal, but she's not letting the experience deter her from speaking her mind. "We are getting more positive than negative but at the same time I feel it was went about in the wrong way and the sticker fits appropriately", says Karen Fonseca.

She said the statement paled in comparison to some of the things President Trump has said.

The sheriff later backed down after District Attorney John Healey said he didn't think it would have been a prosecutable case. "We should stand together and always stand behind what [we] believe", Fronseca said.

Those sporting this hat can expect to ruffle the feathers of unsuspecting "MAGA" hat wearers who may at first mistake the classic red cap with white letters as one of their own.

Fonseca was arrested on Thursday over an outstanding fraud warrant issued in August.
